About Me

My name is Jon Shriver. I was born in the Philippines where my parents were missionaries and, in 1973, we moved to Australia. My family has always been active in church work wherever we were and I was raised in a strongly Evangelical context.

My understanding of God and myself has changed considerably since my early days. Words that describe the God I worship are inclusive, loving, compassionate, gracious, creating, providing and renewing. I would like to think that these words also describe me, and they do—but in a broken yet growing sense.

I am on this life adventure with my wife of 20+ years, Vicki, and my kids, Emily and Brenton.  I’m sure you’ll read about them somewhere in this blog.

Welcome to the adventure! I hope you’ll challenge yourself as you read these words. I hope that, as they have meaning for me and reflect my own worldview and journey, that somehow you will find meaning in them for your life.

Grace and Peace.

You’re not on any contact lists, I promise; if you don’t respond, that’s it, and the invitation is open as long as you’re actively blogging. Hope you join us!

    • I’m already part of the Speakeasy Blogger Network and have reviewed several books from you. The only reason I haven’t posted a recent review is time. Thanks for thinking of me! Peace.
